About the Role

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and motivated Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences to join a growing Department of Life Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced academic to contribute to high-quality teaching, impactful research, and academic leadership within a dynamic and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Biomedical Sciences, while also developing an internationally recognised research profile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and innovative teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate modules

  • Lead and contribute to curriculum development and programme leadership

  • Supervise undergraduate, MSc, and PhD students

  • Conduct high-quality research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals

  • Secure external research funding and contribute to REF outputs

  • Undertake academic leadership roles (e.g. module leader, programme director)

  • Participate in departmental administration and wider institutional activities

About You

We are looking for a candidate who demonstrates:

  • A PhD in Biomedical Sciences or closely related discipline

  • A strong track record of research publications and emerging international reputation

  • Experience of teaching in Higher Education

  • Fellowship of Advance HE (FHEA) or willingness to obtain

  • Evidence of successful grant applications (desirable)

  • Experience supervising postgraduate students (desirable)

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
